Equitable Landlording

Equitable Landlording is a set of values-based practices for operating rental properties that preserves affordability and quality of housing for low-to-moderate income renters while remaining profitable and sustainable for rental property owners and operators.

We believe that equitable landlording should not be cost prohibitive for the average small-scale landlord and that having a safe, secure, and affordable home should not be out of reach for the average low-to-moderate income renter.

To achieve this goal, we facilitate strong working relationships between private landlords, civic institutions, service providers, community development organizations, building contractors, and other stakeholders including renters, homeowners, and community members. We build the capacity of small-scale landlords through exclusive economies of scale, connections to critical resources, advice, and institutional support, facilitating financing, and supporting tenant-landlord relationships, all of which contributes to greater coordination, streamlined operations, and lowered costs of providing healthy and dignified homes for residents.
